P-791 began in DARPA’s WALRUS program in 2005, and cost US taxpayers more than $100 million to develop. Although its first test flight was in 2006, its current status is unknown as Lockheed Martin hasn’t posted any information on the project in over a year.

Amazon Recycles P-791

The P-791 was recently used in a April Fools’ prank where it was modified to look like an Amazon airship.

Created in a popular video editing platform, it’s shown flying while deploying small drones for use in delivering customer packages.
